Starting a 3 day fast tomorrow 26 August 2018

Hi to all. I haven’t posted before…just lurked. I’ve been keto since feb 22. I’ve lost 42 pounds and currently weigh 142. I’m going to begin a 3 day fast tomorrow and don’t have anyone to fast with me. Anyone interested? I’ve done two 2 days fast successfully before. I haven’t attempted a 3 day fast yet.

Hi Nancy, and welcome! Also congrats on your weight loss! … There are a lot of great people here, and please join in the conversations. I have learned a lot from being on this forum, and can’t image there’s a better one.

I’m actually starting a fast tonight as well, after eating dinner a couple hours ago. Not sure just how long I will taking it? Just like to see where it takes me this week? … Last EF fast I did was two weeks ago, for 120 hrs. (5 days) but was also my first 5 day, and didn’t have any issues. I had done a few 72 hrs, and just wanted to see how a 5 day would be. So yep, I’ll check in from time to time if ya want. :slight_smile:

Hi Digital Dave. Great. Thanks. I’m actually going to use bone broth at lunch. I work monda, Tuesday and Wednesday and so won’t be coming in the kitchen as much so I’m choosing to fast on those days. But fasting at work is a bit intimidating because coworkers always think work and food are always paired. Therefore, I’ll drink some beef broth from ox tails that I started this am in the crockpot.

No problem. I find it easier to fast during the week, and have more time to make meals on the weekend as well. I figure I will probably do at least a 72 hr. but could go further? See how things go. … I’ve never done bone broth before, but hear a lot of folks on here speak about it. Been doing just water fast since I started. Never had any issues, so figure until I do, just stick with water. :slight_smile:

How is the fast going? I’ve fasted since 5p yesterday so I’m nearly 27 hours in. Not struggling. My bone broth wasn’t done this am prior to departing for work so I had to drink it when I just my broth until I got home…so just started drinking it. I’m trying the flavor.

Doing quite well, thanks. And also no issues. I’m also at 27 hrs. in, and also trying a new app I was told about. (myfast) (I sometimes have to think back to when I started, so it seems pretty handy)

And how you doing? Good to hear it’s going well. … I’ve never tried bone broth, but have heard a lot folks on here say they use it. - I even asked a question on another thread about drinking caffeinated coffee. Though I’ve been drinking decaf for 20+ years, but was wondering if it somehow helped or hurt a fast? I’ve only done water only fast since I started, so was looking for any information on it. (Always interested in getting good info) :slight_smile:

I just plugged in 5 days, since I wasn’t sure how long I would go.

Yes, it allows you to track a fast. Thank you again, @Ruina. As mentioned it seems quite simplistic and as Ruina stated, it’s nice that it allows you to edit the start time. Which is a nice feature, especially if you decide to fast after stopped eating the night before, etc.

Great! I have coincidentally started an accidental “fast” Sunday 9PM, it is now Tuesday 9AM and the only thing keeping me going is coffee and cream.

As a side comment, I have, for the first time in almost 5 years, left my home office to join a co-working space. I cannot believe how easy it has made the fasting process.

Not sure what happened there, but had to repost? … How you making out, Nancy? Hopefully all is still going well, with no issues.

38 hrs. in and no major issues. But I did have one rough night last night. I went to bed around 10pm, as I usually do, but before I could fall asleep… I seem to be instantly charged! Couldn’t sleep, got the Jimmie legs that kept twitching and basically extremely restless. And this lasted until nearly 2am! … So, I only got 3 hrs. sleep before heading to work this morning. But also had an extremely bad right leg cramp that woke me up quick! Took a few moments to get it to stop. … But with all that, I still not feeling that bad. :slight_smile:

So what is the name of the app? I want to look it up in the App Store.

It’s simply called myfast. Should show an icon like this. Like @Ruina said, it’s nice being able to edit the start time, since we don’t always intend on doing a fast, but just decide to after some time.

Wanted to see if I can place side-by-side images. :slight_smile:
