I just wrote down what you said and I will ask them and give you back the answer I don’t know 100% of their medical information but I do know for a fact they’re literally off insulin. But I will get back to you with an answer and I will ask them
Standard American diet
I never got to the point of insulin but I was on Metformin for years. I lived on a blood sugar spike and drop roller coaster. Those drops were life altering. They caused me to lose hours of my day to recover from them. Every time I ate something that was too high in carbs, I’d plan on not being able to function one hour later. Keto cured the blood sugar roller coaster 100%. I haven’t had a single one since starting keto. I’m also off my metformin and my A1C is in the non-diabetic range.
I only said that as I assumed when you said ‘severely diabetic’ that you meant type 1, and not type 2.
My bad ;>
No problem she is severely diabetic do to her weight and her terrible eating habits. But I understand completely what you were standing that’s why I should have put type 2 diabetes initially
I agree. We can’t make people change. My husband is a type 2 diabetic and eats junk all the time and sits in front of the TV. I have tried numerous times to get him to alter his behavior, even a little bit, but it does no good. He has seen the success that I and 2 of our adult children have had on keto, but it doesn’t make a difference. I have to confess I get angry with him, because it’s frustrating to see someone destroy himself.
Yeah, it’s like trying to make someone quit smoking. That sounds so damn obvious to me: people RUIN their health, they pay for it, often trouble others too, it doesn’t make sense! But no, it’s hard, it’s addiction and they need to want to change. Same with food, well a bit different (we need eating - but we actually keep eating just differently when we change) but still similar.
I have a nice, lovable, smoking, quite obese, diabetic close relative. No way I can change anything in her lifestyle… I so want her to live long though… I feel so powerless and I totally am. At least my own household is better, we both are health-conscious to some pretty nice extent even though our diet is extremely different. I know myself, I would be horribly troubled to see very clearly unhealthy lifestyle all the time. I worry enough about the mentioned person
