Stalled and Confused

I started my journey in January of this year, I pretty much binge listing to all the 2ketodudes podcast and watch a lot of youtube videos before I got started, I wanted to keep it simple, I don’t count calories or micros, I cut out all the norms I keep my carbs low and only get them from veggies, I figured out I was drinking bullet proof coffee 5 days a week was not good so I cut it down to 1 and still today only got rid of 22lbs, I am happy don’t get me wrong but I am 40lbs away from my goal, oh and I also do 2 meals a day most day bc I am not hungry in the morning, I am 54 and wanted to get to my goal by July, any recommendations?

I think 22 pounds is awesome! Congratulations. Do you count your carbs, and do you know if you’re in ketosis or not? Some veggies - especially things growing under the ground - have a pretty high carb count.

thanks! I don’t count carbs, because I only eat spinach, broccoli, cabbage and asparagus mostly. I do my meal prep and I use butter, coconut oil, mtc oil, olive and avocado oils and bacon fat. I don’t do cheat meals and I work out 4 days a week, I just cut that down as well, I was thinking maybe I was doing too much at the gym. I was doing zumba twice a week, bodypump 3 times a week and hip hop cardio once a week. I cut out 2 body bump and now I only do it once a week and still do zumba and hip hop the same.

you might be building muscle, as you burn fat. you could try reducing your fat intake to force your fat feeding from your body.

Remember this is a life style not a rapid weight loss program, KCKO and it will come.

I did reduce my fat, I think I may have reduced it too much :thinking:

Is your body still learning to fat adapt or are you bouncing out of ketosis, you have to find out. So maybe you are right and have cut back to much. Also look at when you are eating not only what you are eating, make sure the insulin is getting to rest.

I am fat adapted, I eat early afternoon mostly last meal around 8pm weekdays on weekends around 5 I don’t snack I eat when I am hungry and that’s twice a day so I figured I am doing enough fat now you see why I am confused :neutral_face:

how much are you trying to lose form what size of frame?

I started at my heaviest 212lbs 5’6” my goal is 150lbs I was my happiest at that weight my, highest loss to date is 24 lbs so I figured I put on 2 lbs of muscle so I will see next week since I lowered my weight building

that seems low to me, make sure you are not slowing your metabolic rate by under feeding

I like to over eat 2 meals a day, in a 6 hour feeding window, Take on lots of calories. Then change it up and wait 24 to 36 hours before eating again and just change it up during the week, but feed in a 6 to 10 hour window, but eat lots.

I will change it up but the most I can go is 24hrs

long fasts are not needed, I like the feeling. Just make sure you give lots of time between meals to drop insulin as low as the body will let it go.
