Sorry so silent

Just a really tough time of year. Today is my dad’s birthday  But it also reminds me of how amazing this group has been and continues to be - so hope this next year finds you (and me) all killing our goals and continuing to grow into the healthiest versions we were meant to be.

Thank you for being so awesome. Come on 2020, gonna slay my limits and make new strides  Who’s with me?

The holidays are a double edged sword. When you are with the people you love they’re great, when someone is absent we feel it even more. Wishing you a gentle ease into the new year and that you do indeed slay your limits in 2020!

I lost my dad November 27th, 2003, and have missed him every Christmas since, so I know it is hard. I try to just keep all the good memories in mind and remembering and laughing to myself over some of those moments, helps me. Part of him is living on in and through you, I am sure that he (and your mom too) were both very lovely people, because you are their amazing daughter =). Hugs =) and I wish you a terrific Keto year in 2020 =).

I’m sorry the holidays were hard for you. This year was my first thanksgiving and Christmas without my grandfather. It was really hard. But yes this community is so warm and helpful, I’m truly grateful for it  I hope all of us have an amazing 2020 and many amazing years to come! My resolution is to quit smoking so I need all of the good vibes I can get :crossed_fingers:t4:

I quit smoking cold turkey on NYE of 2000. For me, worse than missing the nicotine was not engaging in the rituals associated with smoking - cigarette after eating, cigarette with coffee, smoking and drinking alcohol, driving and smoking, etc. I just had to keep reminding myself that I “don’t do that anymore,” versus “I quit,” or “I can’t smoke anymore.”

Good luck with your resolution. Even if you start and stumble many times, one of these times you will succeed.

Thanks for the positive vibes  I’m happy you were able to quit and stick to it for so long! I actually did quit cold turkey as my New Years resolution for 2013 and I did well for years, but maybe sometime in 2017 I picked it back up. I want it to stick this time. For good!
