Soooooo dry

Thank you. I seem to be. Will know more end of March. I’m going to read up on loading vs daily dose. Also will get a better cleanser than soap. thank you for everyone’s input.

I’d say that as with most RDA’s it is woefully inadequate. You should read Dr. Brownstein’s research on Iodine. Here is a short video to get you started…

Also could be an adrenal fatigue or cortisol issue, if persistent.

Have you got a humidifier, or a bowl of water near your dry heat ouput? Indoor winter humidification can help so much.

Yup I take this for adrenals. LOL. See that’s just it, supplement wise I should totally have it covered. It probably is dry in the house though since I heat via woodstove.

I found that I’m really sensitive to coconut oil on my skin. When I first started keto, I’d rub some onto my hands each time I made bpc…my skin went from slightly dry to cracked and peeling. It cleared up within a week once I realized what was causing it. Interestingly, I have no issues when I consume coconut oil. I now make sure to wash it off my hands and all is well.

When my husband and I first started keto he would get the worst dandruff every single day. We tried everything, coconut oil, olive oil, butter, lard, tallow, I mean his pillow would get covered in oil. And he ate tons of oil as well. Nothing helped. The only thing that solved it was time. I think that when we start eating this way it takes a long time for hormones and body systems to normalize. It took at least 8 months to resolve. Just give it time

Hi all. I’ve been struggling with extremely dry/flaky skin since starting keto about 2yrs ago. Skin so dry on my legs, it was worse than “snake skin”. Dry/chapped lips & hands even though I was well hydrated. Even did a stint of supplementing with vitamins (under supervision of doctor), dry skin was still an issue. Bought expensive creams & nothing worked. Coconut oil on my skin…didn’t work! I put it down to my hormones “correcting itself” & that I was dealing with the side-effects thereof.
A week ago I started using gelatin (store-bought, unflavoured from the baking isle) & added it to my coffee, because I was suffering from hip pain and pain in my knee. It felt so stiff. I’m only 37yrs old! The change was almost immediate! The pain in my hip & knee…almost completely gone. And the bonus: skin on my legs/lips/body has improved significantly! I’ve now switched to collagen powder because I wasn’t sure if the store-bought Gelatin was ok to use, but it worked!
