Sorry to any that were offended by pics of Christmas Carbage.
Somebody Stop Me!
Pretty much the same reaction I had! As I was looking at the photos I audibly said outloud “Yuck!”. Then I saw yours. LOL
Now don’t get me wrong, there have been a few occasions in the past week that I have semi-drooled over stuff like this (it’s been surrounding me at the office and a lot of the gifts I received were cookies and chocolate) and I’m sure over the next three days there will be people trying to push this stuff on me, but still, my initial reaction is “Yuck!”. Not so much at the taste of it, but the way that I know it would make me feel.
Not only does “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” apply, but also “nothing tastes as good as wellness feels!”

You know you’re a Ketoer when none of that is even the least bit appealing.
And hubby just brought in a box of Godiva chocolates from the neighbors. When he handed it to me, my first thought was who can I re-gift this to?
I think the longer you get into keto, the worse you feel when you backslide. It makes it so not worth it any more.
Yeah, to be honest most if it is unappealing and no longer has a hold on me. Which is really pretty awesome and hard to believe!
Guess im the odd man out. All looks delicious to me but i could easily resist
Either make or get your wife to make you some keto friendly goodies if you really feel like you need them or want them.
One of my favorite websites for goodies is:
https://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/
Carolyn is awesome at coming up with goodies that a keto person can eat.
There are other websites and facebook pages with goodies that a low carb person can eat.
I’ve been a little surprised by a few of the things I’ve made. There is a pecan pie muffin that looks kinda small but is extremely filling. There is a peanut butter bar kind of thing (sorta like a peanut butter cup without the cup) that just a tiny piece is VERY filling.
I know not everyone can handle the artificial sweeteners and some are better than others. And not everyone can handle chocolate. But if you can, and something like this can keep you from falling completely off the wagon, maybe it might be of some help.
Good luck!
I say yuck but only to trick my brain in to thinking it looks gross. Because damn that looks good. Then I remind myself how terrible I feel physically when I make a poor food decision. ( I’ve had 2 in 8 weeks. Thanksgiving and sushi night )
It’s way better to drive in cruise control than it is to drive in stop and go traffic.
You have to change the way you now look at the foods that once, made you miserable. Although, at the time you thought they brought you comfort. You now have to look at them like they are the terrible little monsters they are and you will RESIST to their power…LOL.
Stuff like that isn’t even edible, no temptation at all for me. You’re accountable to yourself and responsible for your own choices so don’t expect anyone else to stop you when you’re the only one in the room.
I’m not sure the cookie pics are good for newbies or people that have a tendency to cheat. I’ll check with the other admins and see what’s what.
Also, the shaming replies arent very helpful to the OP. Everyone was a beginner at some point
Those cookies look delicious, I’ll be honest, but right now I’m more looking forward to the keto cheese cake and whipped cream with berries I made for Christmas dinner. Not to mention the dinner itself.
One things I’m glad for is that after a long time of not having any treats is that I can see something really delicious without worrying that the lizard brain is going to take over and try to make me eat it. I don’t crave things the way I used to before.
There is a certain amount of negative reinforcement that goes into any kind of a diet, or way of eating. I see sugary sweets as poison now. So when I see tons of Christmas sweets, I get a visceral yuk reaction. There is no desire to even taste the food. Well, except for the cookies. Those do look damned tastey. But I also know they could be laden with poison, so the desire leaves damned quick.
The worst part of it for me with my wife and daughter making cookies was the smell. Kinda makes me nauseous now.
