Some reassurance or advice please?

HI
I’ve been eating KETO since early June 18 and am really loving it (and this forum). I track and feel that I am pretty much fat adapted, although suspect after 30+ years of yoyo dieting and carbage that I still have some healing to do before being fully so.

What I would like some reassurance on is this: I have lost 28 lbs since June, nice and steady after the intial weight loss - I still have a lot to go but am in no big rush as I feel I have found a WOE that will get me where I need to be but my big worry at the moment is that 10 days ago I got on the scale to weigh and had put on 8lb overnight - it hasn’t shifted at all over the last 10 days ( I would have expected some variance) and I just wondered if this was a normal occurrence?

For info, I am 52, 5’6, still have some 60lbs to lose, follow my macros and eat between 1100 and 1700 calories a day, fitbit burn shows an average of 2900-3500 cals per day.

Sorry for the ramble and it may just be a stall but just wanted some clarification if you can spare the time

TIA

“Healthy” weight loss is typically 1 lb per week on a usual caloric deficit. You’re at 1.7lbs a week, it probably works out even if you count initial water weight. I think you’re right on track. You didn’t get yourself unhealthy in 4 months, and Rome wasn’t built in a day. KCKO.

Please take your measurements. You’re after fat loss, not weight loss, and the scale doesn’t measure fat loss! Do this today: measure your upper arms, your upper chest, bust, under bust, waist, lower abdomen, butt, upper thighs, calves. Just make a note of where you measure so that you can refer to those later. Then put the measurements somewhere and forget about them for a month. Repeat monthly.

How often are you eating? Have you introduced some intermittent fasting?

Also, what @Dread1840 said

In addition to what @Madeleine & @Dread1840 have said, what about time restricted eating as well? Aka, stop eating at 7PM and go to bed before 10PM etc.

Not following that guideline seems to have introduced stalls for my progress.

Thanks for your reply! I know that I have lost inches, took measurements of bust, waist and hips but I really wish that I would have taken the others that you mention as thats where the fat loss is happening.
In terms of eating, Mon - Friday, I have coffee in the morning, sometimes with HWC and MCT, sometimes just black then lunch at 1 ish and then dinner at 7:00 in the evening. I have also done a couple of 24 hour fasts.

I will definitely KCKO, I feel so good, I just wish I could get rid of the past 3 decades of ‘weight loss’ rather than ‘fat loss’ being the priority.

Great - that’s what you want

I would take the others now! I use my measurements for maintenance so they can be very helpful in the long term.
