Can someone tell me if coke zero is keto friendly? Zero carbs, zero sugar

Macro wise yes its keto. But It depends on how your body reacts to the sweeteners. Some still spike insulin with anything sweet. Some can do some sweeteners and not others. I tend to avoid it expect for mixing alcohol and the occasional treat. A few week n=1 may be in order for ya.

You probably thought you were asking a simple yes or no question, huh?

It depends on you. People react differently to different artificial sweeteners. Aspratame seems to not cause too much hassle for most people, but even if your glucose isn’t effected, the sweeteners can still cause an insulin response (which is something many of us are trying to limit). If the sweetener can fool your tongue, it can fool your pancreas. Artificial sweeteners can also screw with satiety. You get that taste of sweet without the carbs to back it up, and you feel hungry.

On the other hand, if you don’t seem to bothered by the sweeteners, and it doesn’t screw with your hunger, go for it.

I made a point of cutting out soda for the first couple of months and now I lost my taste for it. I had a sip of a Diet Coke a couple weeks ago and about gagged.

It’s a big fat no for me, but then again, it was a big fat no before Keto. I used to be addicted to Diet Coke until my body started screaming back in protest after 20 plus years.

The abundant amount of sugar alcohols probably means no but since we are all different, there is no way to give a definitive answer on that. Let’s just say for most people it is not keto friendly and for everyone else it is not recommended, especially since anything sweet can trigger other sweet cravings.

I’m one of those unicorns that never saw a single stall even though I drink 2+ liters of the stuff every day. (Not specifically coke zero, my poison is Diet. Dr. Pepper).

I also drink at least 2 cans of Monster Ultras (or the “Carb Free” Rockstars in the blue can).

I hate you in a friendly way. I have/had a major drink addiction to zero carb energy drinks. They definitely are not friendly to me though. Still trying to stop them completely. Stupid things.
