So tonight I ate 5 fries

I know this isn’t as huge of a deal as I’m making it to be BUT considering I feel like I’m making ZERO progress after one month of strict Keto, I am kicking myself in the tookus. Just venting. :expressionless: Thanks y’all.

No worries, just Keto on…

We ate poorly for decades… literally thousands and thousands of days. One momentary relapse of carblettes is not the end of your keto road.

Not eating crap for a month is progress. Think of all the weight you didn’t gain.

Did you initially lose a few lbs water weight and now you THINK you are stalling, when in reality you are probably in the post induction stall…

There was a bit of water weight loss… not a lot though… 5-6 pounds. And then: NADA. I keep waiting for the infamous ‘woosh’.

That was the whoosh, for now.
You are stalling because it’s natural to stall at this stage, prior to fat adaption.
The Keto diet is a wonderful thing and it aims to clear up any underlying metabolic health issues you may have.
Whilst weight loss is a side effect, it’s not the main point.
People don’t generally start losing weight until they are fat adapted, which is generally a 6-8 week process for HEALTHY people, someone with deeper issues such as insulin resistance will take a bit longer.
You need to hang in there and keep doing what you are doing.
Eventually your appetite will suppress and you can experiment with extended fasting, which is where the magic happens.

Be patient.

Thank you for this.

I didn’t lose more than water weight until the four month mark. So stick with it. And five fries is no big deal, considering that people regularly wolf down the extra large serving of fries!
