So I made a new acquaintance

How dare you force a canine to eat the diet that nature intended for it :rofl::rofl:

I just forced my 2 dogs to eat a breakfast of fatty pork mince, sardines, beef liver and raw egg. I also have a couple of pounds of lamb liver in the dehydrator so I can force them to eat liver treats. I am a terrible person!

We recently spent the day together and I found out she has not eaten meat for two years because she claims meat is hard for her to digest?!

Years ago I was on a forum with a lady who was very ill, she was Jewish and delighted in the meats but she was having all kinds of issues with her gut. Turned out there is a rare gene, that makes it difficult to break down animal proteins. She was heart broken that she had to stop eating animal products, she had never been one to eat all the veggies. But she gave it a go and sure enough within a couple of months she was very healthy, the issues she had went away. I have no idea if she gradually added in some animal products again. Almost everyone else I have known that was vegan or vegetarian saw health improve by adding in animal products.

I have no idea what that gene was, she was located in Israel and they do lots of genetics panels over there. Her doctor had done a gene panel on her trying to locate what could cause her issues. Elimination diet worked for her.

We are all different. I have issues with grains which in my former life was my diet staple.

That’s the thing, you gave up grains and felt better (which I feel better without as well), she gave up meat and looks awful, moves slowly, has gained a tremendous amount of weight, her hair is much grayer. If she looked amazing or even the same as she used to, I would think it was ok. Interesting about the gene. I don’t think that is it because as you said, the Israeli woman felt better after she stopped eating meat
