So frustrated!

I seriously can’t believe this… My inlaws, who eat WW, were here this weekend…we have been sharing the keto WOE with them for several months. Sunday morning, my MIL purchased and downloaded this set of books from this website: https://ketosiscookbook.com/

She sent me the links to also download the books and when I did, I was SHOCKED at the ingredients, the grocery lists, the general overview. She is currently on WW and I don’t know if she is ready to switch to Keto, but there is NO WAY that she can follow these recipes. Literally, there is bread, white sugar, pastry, and other ridiculousness. How can this be??? It’s lies!! LIES!!

I’m going to suggest she get her money back and delete these books, as they are NOT KETO! How do we call this “company” out for lying? You can’t put table sugar in a recipe and call it Keto!

I am seriously speechless…

That’s just how I felt when I checked out the American Diabetes Assn website for recipe ideas! Amazing…

I would expect it from the ADA, but not from a self-proclaimed Keto cookbook!!

Salisbury Steak.pdf (517.5 KB)

This is one of the recipes…

My eyes got bigger and bigger as I read the ingredients. Holy crap! That’s insane.

It sounds like someone trying to cash in on keto by tweaking a few recipes to make them slightly less carb laden.

says “100% money back guarantee” (also says elsewhere within 30 days) so she “should” be able to get a refund…if she starts now

definitely someone cashing in…cheesy template website and “by the author of the ketosis cookbook” who the heck is that? :joy:

Right??? I’m going to call her tonight and suggest she ask for a refund… and try to explain how off keto it really is without sounding like a know-it-all… I don’t want her to be put-off and not continue her interest in the keto woe.

i would just tell her that there are far more reputable sources that you’d be happy to share with her and hate to see her spend money on something that isn’t as healthy as it could/should be?

i don’t think that’s know-it-all as much as it is looking out for her…i’m sure she’ll appreciate it

If you’ve ever seen FelicianNurse on YouTube, you may be aware that she was invited to film a keto segment for the Dr. Oz show, but her segment got bumped so they could feature someone else demonstrating how to make a keto smoothie with maple syrup.

So sad… I’ve never heard of her, but it makes sense…

Second Ren and Stimpy reference on the forum in under 24 hours! That’s winning.

Get your money back first… and THEN try to explain etc. Good luck!

Very sad to hear that.
Unfortunately, the internet is full of misleading information…
I hope you get your money back.
