So... cheese isn't bad for you after all!

The Guardian says so. Who’d a thunk? The comments are driving me nuts.

Comments ALWAYS drive me nuts, no matter the story. But thanks for posting this…

I agree cheese does not raise risk of heart attack or stroke, however here is what the article says: “The research was part-funded by the three pro-dairy groups – Global Dairy Platform, Dairy Research Institute and Dairy Australia – but they had no influence over it, the paper said. Givens is an adviser to the Food Standards Agency.”

The industry-funded research does not gain the same credibility as impartial testing.

No, of course. Wisely pointed out. I’m more rolling my eyes at the roller coaster of reports we are “fed” through the press about what’s good and bad for us. A couple of days ago we were being told we were all eating too much red meat. Maybe so. I like my red meat. I don’t function well without it. But I am trying to limit protein to 60g a day in line with keto principles. And I’m going to keep eating my cheese.

Yeah…thank goodness our ancestors stayed away from unhealthy red meat, or else we wouldn’t be here today, …

Yes, and if you fail through the comments, one poster lists all of the funding, appointments, awards and conflicts of the research participants and it is even more disappointing.

More flawed epidemiology. Associations cannot prove cause and effect.
A waste of ink…er…pixels. Not worth the paper it’s printed on… er…
