Smaller feet?

(Mark Anthony Spiteri) #1

Ok this is weird but I am sure that my shoes are now a size too big! Has anyone experienced this when loosing weight?

(Larry Lustig) #2

Yes. Shoes that I had trouble fitting in are now comfortable.

(Danielle) #3

Yes! Shoes, rings & fitness band (wrist) are all too big! Wish I had known about this when I was preggo. Could have saved myself a lot of grief and swelling.

(Meeping up the Science!) #4

Yes. I used to wear a 12. Now I wear a 9-9.5 depending.

(Bacon for the Win) #5

yep, I was a US 8.5 (40) now 7.5 -8 (38). I just wear different socks with the bigger shoes, mostly Danskos for work.

Ditto! So far I need to wear thicker socks in some, and others that were tight are now comfortable. Very happy and looking forward to more change :grinning::grinning:

How funny. I recently bought a new pair of tennis shoes that seemed a little tight, but worked. In my usual size 8. As I was walking out of the office, I realized that they were loose and wanting to slip off the back of my heel. I’m hoping that tightening the laces will help for a bit! lol

A lot of the carb-related water retention happens down by the tootsies. My shoes became smaller in the first month.

#9

YES! I’ve always worn size 13 shoes. I recently bought some boots, and had to return them (online purchase) for size 10s. I thought that was weird, but I figured it was a tennis shoe vs boot thing, or maybe just a weird brand. Then my size L socks (which were already a replacement for the XL that I used to wear) started slipping down.

I’ve also noticed the same drop from an XL to a M in my gloves. I would have never guessed that my hands and feet had so much bloat!

(AnnaLeeThal) #10

I’m guessing I’m a half a size down. And I love being able to see all the details in my feet: tendons, veins, etc… they used to be just puffy little blocks.

(Chris ) #11

Me too, I also had to tighten things like my watch as well.

#12

Yup!

(Tom Seest) #13

Yep. I’ve dropped to much skinnier shoes and sandals. Boots that didn’t fit before fit now.

(Elmo) #14

Definitely smaller. From the knee down I used to have swelling/quite a bit of fluid retention. Doctor said it was to be expected on the blood pressure medicines I was taking. Still on them, but pretty much staying away from carbohydrates has made a huge difference - excess fluid is gone, shoes got way loose, noticeable varicose-looking veins are back to normal; good all the way around.

(Richard Morris) #15

It wouldn’t surprise me. We all have some subcutaneous fat on our feet. As you draw that down maybe your feet might go down a size.

(Doug) #16

Very similar here. Some slip-on shoes, like “loafers” I wear around the house, easily fall right off now. Lots of changes for the whole lower body. Rolling over in bed last night, I felt something. “What the heck is that?” My hip bone.

#17

Yes! I had to buy new shoes!

(Andy C) #18

As I lost weight I noticed both shoes and hats fit differently. Plus I had to switch to my watch’s small band.

(Clara Teixeira) #19

I lost a size in my feet. I know because my beloved Chacos are now too big and I’ve been tripping over stuff a lot! Now I need to save up to buy a new pair. They are supposed to last a very long time so big disappointment to say goodbye before their time. :sob:

OMG I hope not! Since I have been unable to buy clothes this summer (have a bunch that I had bought online last summer that were too small then now fit perfectly, meant to return them but did not), I have been buying a ton of shoes! Since I was a 7.5 when I got married and pre kids and am currently a 9 I am nervous now! I never had much ankle swelling and have not noticed a difference in feet, only hands. My wrists are smaller and I am hoping my engagement ring will eventually fit, it has been years

Hmm will really have to evaluate the new shoes before deciding to keep, make sure they are adjustable.

For everyone whose feet got smaller, was it really the width or the length too? I would imagine it would be easy to tell in sandals more than shoes
