Slow hair growth

(Kevin M.) #1

So…
Being on this ketogenics diet for 4 - 4.5 months now, I’ve noticed my hair has slowed down w/growing, is this normal?
( usually got it cut every 2-3 months)

The seasons have an effect on hair growth. The colder the slower. Also, if you are feeling colder while being on keto (usually due to fat loss), your hair will grow slower as a result.
You could remedy this by waiting until warmer weather if it is seasonal.
Giving yourself some nice scalp massages everyday to stimulate the blood to the follicles and increase circulation which will encourage hair growth.
Or maybe you are not eating enough to fuel your body and so things have slowed ie. hair & nail growth and your metabolism [you are cold all the time or get cold easy]. If this is the case, find your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) and start eating to it. After a few months you will see normal hair growth again. Make sure consume a lot of fat.
Wishing you the best & I hope this helps you.

Ps. I no longer believe in CICO (calories in, calories out), I do believe our bodies require a certain amount of calories to function properly (TDEE). The only exception being fasting.

I have noticed that too. No increased hair loss but slow growth for sure!
