Signs of being fat adapted?

#1

I have been on keto for 4 weeks and I’ve been under my carb limits every day. I’ve also been checking my (blood) ketones daily to make sure I’m in ketosis. I work out 6 days a week doing strength training as well as HIIT cardio. Yesterday I had this BURST of energy during my workout and I’m wondering if it’s a sign of fat adaptation. I normally work out in the morning after my bullet proof coffee, but yesterday I waited until the evening and my workout was about 4 hours after my lunch (but before dinner). Normally my energy levels are moderate during my workouts in the morning but yesterday felt amazing. Could this be because of fat adaptation or because I had a meal several hours before my workout?

Are there symptoms of being fat adapted? How do you know when your body has made the transition?

Here are a few signs you are fat adapted:
More energy
More endurance for prolonged activity
Better sleep
Clearer mind
Less hunger - ability to go longer periods of time between feedings
Less cravings for sweets or high carb foods
Clearer skin
And if you test for ketones, a dip in ketone levels as your body begins to use them more efficiently for fuel and thus doesn’t waste as much.

I found I saw a gradual increase in these things. It wasn’t like a light switch flipping on but rather a dimmer switch going up. And I would have some days scattered in between that made me doubt I was getting there while most days were a little better than the day before.
