Sibling rivalry

So after a couple of weeks keto my sister decided to join me. I told her to take supplements for a week before starting to lessen the chance of keto flu. Tonight at dinner she was bragging that she hasn’t had any digestive issues or lethargy so far and I said yeah that’s because you prepped for the diet and were already relatively low carb …to which she said “then why are you still so lethargic and having insomnia”.

I of course listed off a bunch of reasons why that may be when I really just wanted to curse and pout.

Have decided to do an energy and sleep log because some days certainly seem to be better than others. I have PCOS, depression, adhd and have just been tested for sleep apnea (none of which she has) so I’m hoping the insomnia and fluctuations in energy is just my body adjusting.

From memory, the days I’ve had more energy have been IF days so I’m going to try that again and see how I go

edit I also had a root canal a couple of days ago so I’m thinking my body is busy healing that infection.

And remember, you both have different bodies, different situations. Progress will be different.
Keep calm and Keto on.

I just wish i could get my sister to join me. I thought my progress would motivate her, but she doesn’t seem ready to do it yet.

My sister cannot fast. She gets faint. Cannot find time to get into keto. She has a book I gave her as a resource, but just can’t/won’t do it. Oh well.

Thank you for the reminder. I am super grateful that she has joined me on the keto journey.

Also went to the physio today he said my nervous system was very sensitive at the moment and to get more sleep ._.

I tried kava supplements for the first time last night. Not sure if it helped me get to sleep but once asleep I didn’t wake up at all.

My brother is a diabetic and should be on keto, but he continues to eat crap and spends thousands of dollars on medication to treat his diabetes. I try to tell him there is a better way, but he’s stubborn.

Meanwhile, I’ve been eating keto to prevent diabetes before it even happens (there are a lot of diabetics in my family and the chances are pretty high that I’d be one too if I didn’t change the way I eat).
