"Shower thoughts": Affect thinking about food has on insulin

(Aimee Moisa) #1

Has anyone ever checked their blood glucose after fantasizing about eating a delicious meal? I’m assuming with no actual food intake your BG won’t go up, but I’ve heard even thinking about food can trigger your insulin so if you checked your BG after the fantasy it should go down. I can’t wait to get my BG meter, I’m going to be doing ALL sorts of cool experiments like that. LOL

These are the kinds of weird things I think about when I’m in the shower or doing bank reconciliations.

@Alecmcq I know you were doing erythritol testing and I thought this was mentioned in the thread to try. Ya delightful experimenter :joy::rofl:

It is indeed on my list, not top of the list yet though. I suspect that any effect will be within the normal variation of the monitor, but I will give it a try.

@ladylyssa stay tuned to @Alecmcq ‘s erythritol thread and remind him he was going to test this.

I work in a bulk food store full of candy and chocolate amongst other things. I wonder how often my blood sugar goes up just from walking the aisles or putting out stock. No wonder I haven’t lost any weight
