Shoulder Pain

#1

Along with a keto diet plan has anyone had success using TENS to reduce or eliminate shoulder pain? If so what was your diagnosis and how often did you use TENS? Thanks.

I haven’t personally tried it (I can’t as I have a pacemaker) but my Dad did and said he didn’t find it really did anything for him. He actually swore by the acupuncture he tried instead.

Before my back surgery, I used to have a lot of sciatica. Acupuncture hasn’t done well in double-blind studies, but even if the effect was totally psychosomatic, it worked very well for me!

Did accupuncture have a lasting effect or did it wear off?

Was it long lasting effective?

Really depends on the cause of the pain.

Shoulder pain could be any number of things… you need to find out what you’re dealing with.

Each treatment lasted for at least two weeks, plus another week after the pain started up and became unbearable again. Since we had a good insurance plan at the time, it was quite manageable. I also got treatment for my allergies at the same time, and found that helped, too, though I still needed an antihistamine and a decongestant on the bad days.

After you finished the treatment plan did the pain go away permanently or did it return?

As I said, the treatments lasted around three weeks before I needed another one. Back surgery stabilised the vertebrae and relieved the pressure on the nerves, thus eliminating the pain.

I could have continued with the treatments, lived with the pain, and avoided the spinal fusion, but the threat of paralysis and/or incontinence for the rest of my life was not a pleasant prospect.
