I had a sucker, a Tootsie roll pop.
Shoot I mean @$!#@
Are you tracking macros? This can help keep people on track in the early days. Nobody wants to add 15 grams of carbs for candy to their pristine records. But, for one day it’s no big deal. Just brush off and carry on with keto.
Thks. And yes I’m tracking calories and macros. Even with the little sucker. I’m at 28g of carbs for the day 7% for the macros
Just be glad that you stopped at one, and stay away from them now! Try not to have the temptations around you if possible =). Good luck with the rest of your Keto journey =).
Temptation? Lol don’t get me started on that. My wife is the candy Queen. But I say about 95% of the time I’m tempted but I don’t do it… That dam 5% tho
My husband eats a 4 litre of icecream a week, and tons of chips, popcorn, total Carbage, always. My 18, 21 and 25 year olds here order Pizza, KFC, bring Mcdonald’s in, always are cooking Nachos, always have tons of candy, chips, etc. in the house. I cook Carbage meals for them all as well. My 3 year old grand daughter eats from the time she wakes up until bed. I make her most of her food. I am around all the Carbage food constantly, so I know what that stuff is and the smells, etc are always around.
I know what it is like and it can be hard. Just think of your goals and Keto on =)). I didn’t say it was easy, but after you are fat adapted it will become easier. I have no cravings for any of that Horrible stuff anymore, but what helped me was removing all sweeteners as well the beginning of June, so my system was stripped of any sweetness. It has worked well to remove all cravings and temptations =-).
When my grand daughter wakes up I have to cook her her 3 morning eggs (that is tempting but I eat 20:4 so I don’t have food until 1pm) then I eat again at 4:4ish because I do 20 hours not eating a day from 5pm-1pm so the only time I find it hard not eating some days is when I am making her her breakfast, then all her morning snacks and her lunch. It is much easier now then that was on for a while. Once in a while that will still be annoying, but usually I just fill my 32 ounce glass of water and drink that and a teaspoon of Pink Himalyan salt and it is all good =).
You will get like that too soon enough, once the craving time passes =)). You could also try and talk to your wife about keeping the candies, etc away from you and ask her to eat them when you are not around =).
Orrrr try and see if she wants to do Keto too, and just get it out of the house!! =).
I have never been a candy or sweets eater so that part is easy. The tough one for me is going out for Mexican food with others and not reaching into that bowl of warm chips. I used to catch myself reaching for them but stopping short. I am over that now.
Going out to eat is just about impossible now. I am totally fussy about not just what is in the food, but also what it was cooked in. This makes ordering very difficult for the wait staff. (They have no clue what is in that food) and my fellow guests (who have no patience with my “odd ball” behavior. Just easier on everyone if I don’t go out…or if I just order decaf coffee with butter.
Instead, I invite people over to do a pot luck. I made genuine Goulash tonight’s ago…with cheese cake desert. All under 14 carbs per person. Not one person realized they were eating keto. (I didn’t point it out). I got many compliments on how wonderful everything was.
