Seriously!

Ok, so I calculated lean body mass. Its 141.8lb but to make life easier 65kg
If I consume 1.5g protein per lean kg, that is 102.5g per day!

No way I could eat that amount, and wouldn’t that just make me fat again!?

The range is from .8 to 1.5 g per kg lean body mass. You can go lower than the 1.5g number per day.

The dudes did a great episode on protein needs.

Thank you! I almost dissolved into a heap when I calculated it!

= 3.6 ounces. Too much? That’s about 13 ounces of beef, and as @collaroygal said, you can pretty much cut it in half at the lower end of the range.

Going with the .8 grams per kilogram of lean body mass, you’d be at 9 eggs per day (and heck, I can eat 50 eggs.)

Sometimes if I am actually low on protein, I’ll throw in a couple jumbo shrimp as a side. They are very high protein. Can buy big bags to keep in freezer and they fry up nice and quick in butter.

Oh my, I couldn’t eat that many! Cool Hand Luke comes to mind! Lol

It is a range - somewhere around 1-1.5 (but more if you need it). If you struggle to eat that much protein that is probably a sign you don’t need that much. Listen to your body and use it as your guide.
Sounds cheesy but you do have plenty of built in mechanisms to let you know when youve had enough protein.
