Sausage soaked in seeds oil

(Adriana Ro) #1

There’s a popular recipe here in Italy. Basically homemade dry and raw sausages soaked in seeds oil so They will Last a lot longer. I know that seeds oil is not super good on keto, but can I still eat those sausage if I remove most of the oil?

Could you use olive oil? (fruit not seed)

I could in the future, but what about the ones I made using seeds oil? Can i eat em?

(bulkbiker) #4

You can but may not do you much good… which seed oil did you use?

(Adriana Ro) #5

Mixed seeds oil, but mainly sunflower seeds oil I think

I guess drying them off before eating would remove most of it… depends on how much damage you think the seed oils would do to you.

It’s not ideal, but if you want to use up what you have then go for it rather than wasting food, just use olive oil in future if that’s an option for you

Infrequent use of seed oils will do little harm (intake will happen sometimes when you eat at a restaurant and you won’t even know about it).

Regular use is the problem. Some people walk down the supermarket isle and will not justify to themselves the much higher price of a smaller container of good olive oil or avocado oil over the large jug of looks-just-the-same seed based oil.
