Saltiest Peanuts

(Paul Rich) #1

So many peanuts I buy these days have very little salt. I’m sure the advice of the AHA has got through to them!
Does anyone know of any really good salty peanuts?
Thanks

To somebody that’s not afraid of salt, none of them are going to taste salty enough. But if you’re in the NorthEast / Mid-Atlantic region Wegmans store brand nuts are pretty damn salty though.

Many Thanks neighbor, granite state here. I will check them out. See what you’re saying about just being used to more salt, I’m sure that plays a part but I still think they’ve been demonizing salt. It’s funny when you tell people about keto, love the look when you say high fat high sodium :joy:

NICE! I always said I should’ve been born up there. I grew up and lived most of my life in Boston but always wanted to move to NH, even when we moved outta MA we wound up in VA, that’s with my wife growing up doing all her vaca’s in Laconia! I swear she did it to spite me.

Oh so you’re an estranged Bostonite. I’m actually English, my wife is a Salem (Witch, of the nicer kind!). We’ve actually been down to Virginia a couple of times as my wife has family down there. It’s a beautiful state, will return at some point and do the wonderful historic sites there. Would you recommend as a place to live? As we get older the winters here can be a bit harsh as you know!
Yes NH is beautiful and we spend time in the White Mountains when we can.
All the best

I would, but the downside is at least in this area, it’s getting very expensive… very quickly! I’m about 10min outside of downtown Richmond so it’s decently busy and as quick as they can build apt bldgs, complexes and entire subdivisions it’s not quick enough. We moved down in 2009 and was in a douchey part of town in a 2bd, 2ba 1000sq luxury appt with pools, gyms, the whole thing. We paid $850/mo. That apt now goes for $1600. We bought our house in 2013 and paid $205k for it which was slightly below going rate then. All the houses going in the sub division next to mine (the cheap one) are starting in the mid 500’s and the ones behind me are in the $700’s. It’s happening FAST! The upside is the area is awesome and there’s literally everything within minutes. There’s also a LOT of New England and other Northeast transplants living here so you never have that culture shock stuff like when people move to the “real” south haha. Winters are a complete joke most of the time. We can get cold and go below freezing but spend more time in the 40’s and get very little snow as a whole, didn’t get any this past winter.

Hi, Sorry not ignoring you, don’t always get time on computer. Thanks for that really appreciate the detail. Seems very similar to here in recent years with the price increases although I guess being fairly close to DC it’s going to carry a premium. It’s actually Varina we visited family. I must admit 40s in winter sounds sweet, could really see us considering a move. So I guess the ‘transplants’ never made it as far as Florida
This year we really didn’t get much snow but it’s always on the cards that you’re gonna have one of those winters. We moved over from England in Dec 2014. We bought a place and Jan & Feb 15 was when we had record snow, over 100 inches in a month!!, I was like holy cow what have I let myself in for, I only had the rain in England  Luckily I found out most winters are not like that.
Thanks
Take care, stay safe
