Anyone have any recommendations for salt tablets? I have pots disease and am having a hard time getting enough salt ( I need quite a bit more than even keto asks for) on the cheaper side if possible.
Salt tablets
buy a salt grinder that had salt crystals. Rip off the grinder attachment - tuck the salt crystals under your lip like chewing tobacco - problem solved!!
That is what I did. $3/lb cheeeep. Fantastic!!
If you’re super cheap like me you can just buy the empty capsules and fill them by hand.
I may consider that further on, really hectic right now so time isn’t easiest for me atm. Need salt for on the go because I get dizzy easy and need a pick me up quick.
It takes just a few minutes to make 20 capsules. I make them in batches of 40 or 60 and it takes about ten mins.
A tablespoon of salt, poured into 10 ounces of cold water, thoroughly stirred, is my preferred ingesting. At 12 oz, the salty taste isn’t overpowering.
These are now my sweets/candy. I am slowly chewing through this pot of Pink Himalayan rock salt. It is really nice to chew on, suck on, stick under tongue, whatever.
This tub cost me about US$4, and will last me about 3 months at the current rate.
Thank you, I will look for something like that in Norway.
This could be the solution for me when it comes to salt-intake. How much salt would you put in one capsule, I was thinking if having a large dose of salt disolve directly in my stomac, instead of in my mouth, if it could be trouble? Do you use more than one capsule at once?
The capsule machines come in different sizes, mine uses the biggest size of 00 and I fill them as much as possible. I take one every single morning with my other daily supplements, and take additional capsules when I feel the need - often before gym, or when it’s really hot and I’ve been sweating a lot. Sometimes with meals too, if I don’t salt the meal itself.
Well, I’m sloppy. More than a teaspoon, less than a tablespoon, but not much. It doesn’t bother me in 12 ounces of water, so that may just be one way I’m broken. In fact, I can barely taste it. In 2 ounces of water, though, it’s painful.
I made some self-filled salt capsules and found that even small amounts in the capsule upset my stomach and once even made me vomit. Now, I purchase salt tablets at the drugstore. I take two daily, one tablet with a meal.
These tablet don’t have much sodium in them it’s the only way I can tolerate the ingestion of any quantity of salt at one time.
Sucking on salt crystals or drinking salty water tastes horrid to me. Too bad, as it would make the consumption of salt so much easier.
