I’m in keto before I run (completely fasted first thing in the morning) but come back and test (after a 9km slow run) and I’m out of keto - why?
Also what fasting bloood sugar levels do u guys have first thing in the morning ?

Doubt it. What you’re seeing is your body actually using the ketones as it’s meant to so they won’t show in tests as they’ve been used. Lower levels are often seen when people are adapted, mine are always lowest after gym as they’ve been used.
What’s interesting is that I’ve remeasured 30 min later and I’m back in keto ++ on urine strip - perhaps you’re right! I worried it’s because I’m burning muscle (protein-glucose) while I train? But amazed I’m back in high keto so fast after it shows negative when first back from a run
Throw out the pee sticks as they’re useless. They ONLY show what’s your body is wasting.
Ketones are created to be used as fuel, you’re just seeing your body doing what it’s meant to.
Blood testing is more accurate, but if your body is using the ketones as fuel, blood testing will still give low readings after exercise.
I see the same thing too. Ive been keto for 16 months and my ketone levels (blood ketones) are lower on the days I exercise and are lower overall since becoming fat adapted. The longer you are keto, the more efficient your body becomes at producing the amount of ketones you personally need without a lot of excess hanging out in your blood ready to be used. My average ketone level on days I exercise are anywhere from 0.4 - 0.9 whereas days I don’t exercise they typically run between 0.5 - 1.9.
I have no sources to refer you to (so I probably shouldn’t even post this response), but I recall reading that exercising in a fasted state causes secretion of glucagon. Perhaps that has something to do with it?
