Congrats on loosing weight, however, you definitely are not eating enough food. Add some bacon or sausage with your eggs or an avocado. What about dinner? if you’re only eating one meal a day, it has to be significant.
Results are becoming sparse and body not entering Ketosis
Feasting AND fasting are equally powerful. When it is time to eat, hit beast mode to keep the body from fearing starvation patterns with fasting, using keto foods as the foundation. You will be surprised by how well it helps. Staying to low between fasting will cause stalls or even lead to water retention (gain)… just another thought… based on my own learning curve at least.
This is what was happening to me too; I did 72 hour fasts, then only ate a can of salmon, and another 72 hour fast, and no weight loss. Fasting is great, but I know know I need to eat enough calories on the eating days.
It takes willpower for a lot of (especially, imho) women to really eat.
Well I said I would return with a summary with the advice taken on board, I decided to start consuming more food throughout the day as I wasn’t eating enough, of a week doing so, I’ve gained nearly 6lbs in weight from just eating to the recommended guidelines. In a panic I decided to start fasting for 2 days because I’m worried and all that…
I also recently started back at the gym, doing mainly CV but have the odd chest day and leg day scattered through the week.
Wow; you have experienced great progress since starting. Fear not.
Stick to the basics - carbs under 20 (or as low as you can go comfortably); eat when hungry; eat cleanly; eat enough; eat the right foods (meat/protein with sufficient fat, and supplement other foods with fat if they don’t have much [i.e. veggies]). I don’t recommend IF until you feel ready. If you are eating correctly and sufficiently at the beginning, your body will tell you when it doesn’t feel like eating as often or as much.
For me, I’d get rid of the strips. I don’t want to test, weigh or focus on food or my plan. For the first time in my life, keto has allowed me to stop obsessing about food and what I am/am not eating. I eat to sustain myself (and enjoy every bite - so delicious), but I don’t think about food or eating in the meantime, or how much weight I am losing, etc. I know it will come, and it has been. My recommendation is to try to relax with your plan. Just live and enjoy your life, your progress and your new found health.
