Recommendation for a good multi vitamin?

(KetoQ) #1

Just saw a recent post on magnesium deficiency, and realized it might be more cost effective to take a multi, rather than 3 or 4 separate vitamins.

Any recommendations?

I doubt anyone that takes a multi expects it to cover their mag as well; them pills is BIG lol. There are certain supps you just have to take in addition to your multi - like fish oil, calcium (if you take it), glucosamine, magnesium, etc.

FWIW, I’m not entirely convinced any one multi is better than any other. I know the Army issues you little tiny red ones that look like Red Hots; but then Centrum is like 8x bigger - so better? Who knows. It would be neat to know what really ARE the best multis…

I take Sports Salts - magnesium, potassium, and sodium, all in one pill. I think the brand is called like…Pure Planet or something like that. Search Sports Salts on Amazon and you’ll find it.

Huh. Looks interesting! That would be a great addition to a multi!

If you’re looking for a multi which will also contain enough Mg to correct a deficiency, I’m afraid you’re going to be sorely disappointed! :disappointed:

Natural Factors. Whole Earth and Sea.

Cruciferous veggies, leafy greens like kale shakes, fish for the specific type of DHA for a balanced 1:1 omega-3-to-omega-6 ratio and grass-fed meats especially ofal from livestock if you like organ meats (magical stuff)?

All the ingredients in this fat bomb recipe work extremely well and work like a super-vitamin because they are from natural sources (the benefits could probably fill a small library with books):

The reason for natural sources is it is more balanced to what you really need (without measurements) especially in micron particulate size (the reason plants are the best transporter and also the organic grass-fed fat soluble vitamins in meats, eggs, poultry and marine-life) of vitamins, minerals and trace elements to actually get into the cells of the body the way they should. You could take man made vitamins, minerals, trace elements but it is like trying to stuff the Empire State Building into your cells compared to a golf ball, if it cannot get into the cells it simply passes through the body and is excreted compared to the absorption from natural sources?

If Mother Nature didn’t make it, DON’T EAT IT, is my philosophy!

Just my two cents for what it’s worth!

You don’t need a multivitamin just for magnesium.

I’m totally with you atomicspacebunny (great name) on whole food sources. I do eat big salads and lots of diverse veggies, but I’m finding it’s still hard to get enough of what you need, hence the practicality of taking a multi.

Plus, sometimes, I’m just not into meal prep.

for men, I think this one is pretty good. I love this site - good prices, easy to navigate:
