Really Want to Lose 10 lbs in the Next Week, Best Way?

To answer your question …PSMF. Protein sparing modified fast via Lyle McDonald’s rapid fat-loss handbook protocol.

There really is no other viable (smart) solution other than starving yourself for a week or employing tactics used by wrestlers and MMA fighters to drop weight super super fast…ie 5 to 10 lbs in a day or 2…again not smart not safe but doable.

Fast.

So the fast did not work. While this does not usually happen, I gave up after 46 hours. I could give you the list of excuses but at the end of the day I did not want to continue. I know I could have but since I did not, who cares.

It is not a big deal except for this party, which is creating its own stress plus the work stress that has gotten crazy which has no connection to the party.

Partly I have no clothing in this size, I am below anything I have been since 1999 or earlier. I guess that is good but I wish it was just a little more. I feel like if I spent 2 hours at the gym every day for the next week it might get there but I know it is only an illusion

Fasting works. It always works. What varies is the effective dosage. Just because you stop eating for a few hours doesn’t mean you’ll get an immediate drop in weight. You quit before it had a chance to work. During one of my extended fasts, my weight stayed the same for 3 straight days. Despite this, my weight was down 7 lbs for the week.

Maybe my experience is atypical, so I’ll open it up. Is there anyone here who has water fasted for a week and not lost weight?

I was not saying the fast would not have worked, simply that since I could not or was unwilling to stick to it this time, it was not currently an option.

As for fasting always working, I lost 5 lbs at my first 5 day fast (measured after eating for 24 hours since that is all I keep), 4 lbs on the next and maybe 2 or 3 on the last one. These were months apart. According to Fung net loss fasting is .5 per day. At this point, with everything else going on, I could not handle not eating

I understand. I am not judging you. I apologize if my comments came across as insensitive.

Fasting requires a lot of “emotional space” and sometimes we just don’t have it.

All good. It is two things with me, first that I really do not want to right now. The second is that I know even if I fasted for a week, based on prior experience I will lose maybe 3 lbs. Since this event is about food and I do want to be able to eat, I would need to start eating by Thursday since I sometimes get an upset stomach after I start eating
