I’m needing some help/information please!
I’ve been keto for 14 weeks. A big reason for me going keto, aside from supporting my husband, was to end my hangry episodes and find stable energy.
I’ve been doing well and have had some days , and even one string of a few days where I felt great all day. After needing to eat quite frequently and being always hungry in the first few weeks I’ve now noticed not being so hungry so often and the hunger is different, like not an emergency!
However, I still have been feeling perhaps I’m not fully adapted yet as I will have days (many) where my energy crashes. Days where I’m irritable etc, feeling like my ore keto self.
I’ve worked hard on learning about electrolytes and I feel I’m keeping those balanced pretty well.
I bought blood glucose strips to go with my Ketone monitor. My waking blood glucose was 4.3 yesterday. However, several hours later after a workout and a meal it fell to 3.6 about 1 hour post meal (had been about 3 hours since the workout). I tested at this time because I was feeling off .
This sounds like reactive hypoglycemia to me, and I feel it might be what has been happening/keeping me from feeling good more consistently?
I don’t know where to look for answers as far as how to manage this, what I should be doing not doing, even how to make the best use of the day I’m collecting (when I should be testing etc)
Any advice or resources are so greatly appreciated!!!
