My husband and I were just commenting on how little “appetite” we have, meaning no cravings. But then, when it’s our window for IF And our ACTUAL stomachs say they are ACTUALLY empty and hungry… We can act like a couple of wolves in the wild! We just brought home some baked chicken thighs from the store and before putting away the rest of the groceries, we tore into those thighs like we were starving and in a timed competition. It cracked us both up. Then, like always, the switch got flipped and we couldn’t eat one bite more. It’s incredibly cool to see and feel the transformation in our attitudes toward food. Are we evolving? or devolving back to our natural state? Whatever… it’s pretty groovy!

My opinion is that our ancestors (prior to 10 k years ago) spent most of their lives in ketosis. Missing a meal or even a week or two of meals was common. When the hunt was successful, hunger and satiety signals still functioned normally. They ate, felt full, stopped eating. Food for tomorrow was thus assured. Those who couldn’t left the pool.
