Hi, this morning I measured 3,9 mmol/l KET (ketones) in my blood and 3,6 mmol/l for blood sugar using Freestyle Precicion NEO. Is this blood sugar level expected as I am eating a Keto diet and worked out the night before and was fasted when measuring? If everything is working as expected going into Ketosis given these measurements? I have been eating a Keto diet for about two weeks, but feel kinda sluggish during my workouts. Wondering if my blood sugar is too low?

Sugar & ketones look pretty good to me. Your gym performance is likely to suffer somewhat as you go through the process of fat adapting. Keep up your electrolytes, eat well & perhaps don’t push yourself too hard for a while. It should all come good

You feel sluggish because you are not yet fat adapted.
Whilst you are producing a high amount of ketones, your body does not know how to use them effectively for energy, until you are adapted, roughly 6-8 weeks, you will feel like that during your workouts.

Thanks guys. I must be fat adpated to perform better in the gym I understand. I am using l-carnitine as pre-workout so I hope my body understands that it must use fat for fuel soon…
