I have developed an odd rash on my upper arm.
Also as the rash is (sort of) clearing up I am beginning to develop smaller pustules (about 5) on my legs. Normally I do not have skin issues of any sort.
Could this be from fasting?? I know fasting is a detox and that some toxins are excreted through our skin but in all the fasting videos I’ve listened to have not mentioned it.
Anyone have this sort of thing happen or know of it??
Rash from fasting?
I think Megan Ramos covers fasting rashes in this podcast. https://obesitycodepodcast.com/live-q-and-a-with-megan-ramos/
I get small hives when I lose a lot of weight. I think it is stored toxins in my fat being released. I don’t do EF yet so I’ll have to look out for that when I do.
Keto rash is a thing, not entirely sure what causes it, but one theory is it’s due to ketones being excreted from the body in glandular secretions in the skin. I had it for about 6 weeks on the back of my neck and it sucked, but it did clear up. (Hadn’t had a rash since I was a kid.) Some people swear by tea tree oil, others by ACV, but for me nothing worked until it eventually cleared on its own I believe. I know for me, fasting raises my blood ketone levels, so perhaps that’s why a fast triggered the rash for you?
There’s also a yeast, Candida, that can’t handle you becoming carb restrictive.
Minute 23:30 has the apple cider vinegar and berries protocol.
