Given how much we love the spoiler tag around here, I think the default should be that quoting text automatically carries the tag with it. As it is now, the person replying to the post has to add the tag back in so it doesn’t accidentally show the blurred words.
That seems like it’d be a smart default to me. The spoiler thing is a plugin, though, IIRC, so not sure how that effects whether quoting would still be able to work with it.
We do want to improve this area, but it is fairly technically complicated, cause we have to go backwards from HTML to Markdown. Same issue holds for quoting bolds and italics and so on.
