Quick advice.... World buffet

#1

Hi all, just after some advice for my dinner out tonight - world buffet restaurant, think Chinese, Indian, Italian, grill, Salads
Can anyone advise absolute avoids and any things I can enjoy that I hadn’t thought of?. Obviously could just go with meat from grill and salad, but also keen to try the chicken satay type stuff, garlic mushrooms, curries etc. Can anyone give me any pointers?

Thanks in advance

I know the basics (I’ll avoid the obvious high carbs) , I know alot of sauces add flour to thicken and any battered proteins are also a no no
This is my omad so can afford to eat some carbs here

Go for meat! Vegetables and if saucy things, small portions.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #3

Be careful with this. It’s yummy, but peanuts are fairly high in carbs, and a lot of recipes contain added sugar. A meat curry ought to be fine, for a special night out.

Stick with items that are mostly meat, avoiding the rice, potatoes, and desserts. One night off at plan won’t kill you, but if it keeps you off plan, that’s risky.

that is what I would do right there.

Key being any prepared for us we tend to go more hog wild on it cause it tastes good and we tend to go more crazy in a small way when SO much is offered.

I would first EAT BEFORE I GO. then I know I can control me so much better. Then I would just eat that little bit of fresh grill and some side bits and just enjoy the company and enjoy the atmosphere.

Plus I know me now at all times, my ;‘little’ bit becomes a gut killer after eating when I wanna ‘try this or that’ and in the end, almost 95% of the time ya come home from this type of eating in some kinda mess…be it guts are off, we ate way to much and ‘now back on that wagon’ to clean up that meal LOL

NOW THIS IS ME and what I went thru in olden days. Now the focus can’t be on a world buffet and what can I eat that is not controlled by me truly, my focus is ON ME and how I control the eating situation.

again, this is ME chat on ME and how I would approach it

I love world buffets, we have an all you can eat world buffet in Derby, UK. Great as a zc’ber (carnivore) i love all the different meats and those that had excess coatings of sauce i just scraped off the sauce! :grinning: i went back to refill plate and went home satiated, there was just so many different tasting meats and loved the shelfish too. Great price too. I would go again and again for different occasions throughout the year. The other good thing is that there were plenty choices for all my families different tastes and diets

I go to a local popular Ming Garden Japanese buffet. Not just Japanese but from everywhere. And yes great meat but I usually do a “fish lunch” with baked flounder drowned in butter, a couple of shrimp, a couple of mussels. Then raw salad with blue cheese crumbles, vinegar or cooked veggies

And always a piece of bad frozen pizza with pepperoni. Sometimes a couple of teaspoons of chocolate pudding too haha

Stuff I don’t have everyday.

Good fun!

YEA! why in heavens name is the worst pizza on the planet ALWAYS part of a standard Japanese buffet? Cause it is for the kids who won’t eat anything else? I mean, come on HAHA too wild.
