Okay, since I went off my Metformin in late November (my decision to see how it would go), I have been very strictly monitoring my macros. And I come back, time and again, to a question about cooked vs raw weights. I have been using nutrition data from USDA, MyFitnessPal (where I track my meals), and a couple of other sources on the net. Sometimes, however, it is not clear, especially with meats, whether the info given is for cooked or raw. In FB discussions, some have maintained that all measurements should be raw weight - veg included while others maintain that there is a difference due to lost weight from cooking (I remember old WW and GraySheet OA where you calculated your 4oz serving of meat by adding 2 oz for raw weight and another 2 oz for any bone in the meat: you were eating 4oz cooked, boneless meat). How do folks here do it? Fat is easy: just weigh it or measure it by the tablespoon. I know I’m being a bit compulsive about it, but since I’m the one that made the executive decision to see how I’d do on clean keto, and without meds, I figured being a touch OCD was not a bad thing.
