Hey! I’m very interested in incorporating the Ketogenic diet, but I’m easing in due difficulty digesting fat. (I’m working on getting my gall bladder to function more efficiently. ) My question is this: when I test with the 11 Parameter Urinalysis Sticks, even though I’m not defiantly NOT eating Keto, I show that I’m deep into ketosis. (DARK PURPLE.) Why? Should I be worried about this? Thanks so much!!
Question about Ketosis when not fat adapted
Could you not be in ketosis?
The only concern I would have with the darkest reading is hydration - it can indicate that you are not getting enough water. You can easily double check this though by looking that the colour of the pee you are testing! Basically, the paler in colour the better.
If you’ve limited carbohydrates that alone could put you in ketosis so it’s a possible explanation why the strips read the way they do without consuming extra fat. As far as possible concerns I’m not very well versed on those but I am confident someone should be able to help.
Thanks, Daisy!! Most days, I drink between 64 to 90 ounces of water. I may need to drink more.
Sorry…need clarification…when you say:
What do you mean by that? Can you describe your typical daily way of eating?
