Hello,
I’m from the Czech Republic and recently have returned from London, where I was suprised to found out that many fundamental(elemental) ingredients are even cheaper, but of way better quality.
For instance, this low-end butter cost 2 pounds in my country where avg. salary is $800, while this Pure Irish Butter costs 1.69 pounds in London. And today, I’ve bought here in Tesco for the same price like in London the Kerygold, in sale a “butter” where most abundant ingredient is water…what a joke. Actually, I do find most meat and cheese in my country’s Tesco stores of such pure quality, it is barely eatable. I wish Saintburry would expand to the Czech Republic but it seems in Berlin, food you can buy in international stores like mentioned Tesco is of even higher quality than in London.
I usually shop in Lidl stores in my country, which seem to offer the same food across all countries and you can get there 100g of salamy made from 140g of meat for 50p or a cup of good coffee for the same price. D&M is too expensive for me here.
