Purple small potatoes
I know this is probably a no no but I got these from a family member and I’m going to eat six small purple potatoes with my steak it looks so delicious. Also I’m going to have a nice salad to go with it I can’t resist here’s a picture of it
This AND a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? I think maybe you have lost enough weight and you want to go SAD again? Maybe you are tired of Keto.
No I’m enjoying keto and I’ve seen many of the benefits of being on keto this is just something I’ve always wanted to try and the peanut butter and jelly if you wrap my post she would have known that I was starving. I have been doing keto for over a year and one of the things that I have noticed is initially I was probably a lot like you and only 100% only keto foods but as I have adapted to this lifestyle I have learned of this is a lifestyle and I’m in it for the long haul so if occasionally I want to have something that’s outside of the keto traditional diet I will do it but in very small moderation and I back it up what a ton of exercise and a ton of water . And I have never had any problems. As far as the peanut butter and jelly issue I didn’t plan on eating that at all and if I was in a controlled environment like my home I would have ate the peanut butter and jelly sandwich on my keto bread my sugar-free jelly and moderation amount of peanut butter but like I said I was coming off a fast of three days and I was on day 4 and I got super hungry . You ought to do whatever works for you. That said, I’ve been at 5 net carbs a day (mostly) for 2.5 years. I’ve found in the past that I will fail “adding” carbs at a certain point, so choose to remain low carb. 2x on Atkins I wound up putting the weight back on as adding the carb rungs only made me hungrier, resulting in my eating more. And rationalizing it all.
If you can increase your carbs, remain in ketosis, and manage your hunger, more power to you. Generally I stay away from feeling the need and want to “add” anything or have any imitations of a high carb food, though occasionally indulge in “keto cheesecake” made by my neighbor. But that’s me. I also stay away from “peanut butter and jelly sandwich on my keto bread my sugar-free jelly and moderation amount of peanut butter”, but again more power to YOU! If you consistently bounce back from that i.e. the next day, that’s great!

I totally agree with you I’m in this what amount of time I’ve been doing keto for over a year and if I tried to a here to 100% a keto diet then I will fail I have found for me that occasionally if I want to indulge I can do it and I back it up with exercise and I move forward
Have at it! I eat sweet potatoes with my steaks when I go out regularly. On the PB&J thing, had one this morning on my Schmidts low carb bread (12g total), my natural PB and sugar free jelly. End of the world right? LOL! I’ll never understand why people assume if you eat an ignorable amount of carbs that you’ve thrown in the towel and “given up” on keto.
I am only 3 months in, but I would be SO afraid of the all encompassing hunger again. I would be afraid of losing control again as soon as all that insulin starts cursing through my veins. But maybe after a year I might see it differently. It just sounds like the perfect storm is brewing - a way to slip back into SAD.
I totally understand your point of view but this is a lifestyle for me and part of living your life is not having an unhealthy relationship with food saying that you know what although this may not be 100% keto it is okay to have six Small Potatoes and if you seen the bag you would see how small it is. But I totally understand your point at the end of the day you have to do what’s best for you
Those purple potatoes are better than resistant starch and better for feeding your gut microbiome (your entire immune system) than any other substance on earth besides lotus seeds.

Oh my gosh I did not know this I literally took six of the smallest potatoes and gave the rest to my neighbor so I wouldn’t resist trying to eat the whole thing. Gosh. I didn’t know
The articles are fantastic and I even took it a step further and watched a few YouTube videos of course everything in small moderation but have I would have known that I would have kept the rest of them this is another reason why I love this form wrong or right I get advice and I get to take that advice a step further and research it myself
The package that the steak came in says vegetarian fed I think. Maybe I should have my eyes checked.
FWIW I can eat potatoes and stay in ketosis. Like a lot more potatoes than I expected. But I’ve been keto for a while. I had to give them up because they were causing pain for me. But if they didn’t… I would purple potato on occasion too.
