Protein question

(Bob O'Donnell) #1

Two Quick questions, I know the standard isn1-1.5g per kilo of lean. So I guess this might be a dumb question, if you haven’t gotten a BMI scan can you just use your goal weight? I have been doing keto for the last 4 months and need to tweak. Also what is the best meat that is low in protein but high in fat. I need to increase my fat!!! Thanks in advance

Unless your goal weight is 0% body fat that will not be your lean weight. If you have an idea of your current body fat % you can figure out your lean mass. Calipers can be purchased for cheap on amazon or e-bay. While they may not be perfect they can get you in the ball park affordabley.

Here are some different options…

Put “body fat percentage” into Google images to get an idea of what yours is, then you can work out your LBM from your current weight.

That’ll depend a lot on what you like to eat, spend, and cook, but as far as beef is concerned, they address the different cuts of beef and their relative fat content in the podcast below.

Dr Rosedale suggests if you were quite athletic at school, think back to how much you weighed and then subtract 10%. That will assume that your Body fat at your fittest was 10%.

Wouldn’t that also assume that you never gained any lean muscle since then?
