Protein powder

(Ashley) #1

I just ordered some protein powder for recipes. Can anyone tell me if they’ve used this and if they think it’s okay? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002TG3QPO/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Standard Disclaimer that whey protein can really spike insulin so if you are IR or diabetic keep that in mind.

I used it before I knew and it worked great…but once I found out about the insulin issue I tossed it.

Thank you! I’ll see what happens with it then!

Isopure is a good protein, used to take it all the time before I went to blends pre-workout. For recipes really doesn’t matter but if you wind up being affraid of Whey like so many are, Cassien is a very slow burning protein. Not sure how much difference if any it makes in recipes.

Yeah I only plan on using it occasionally for certain recipes. So I think it’ll be okay, I’m not using it to supplement protein! Just for pancakes and such that need it.

I’m using the Whey Protein mix from Costco now. At the moment I have a fractured tooth and I am awaiting an extraction, shortly followed by a bridge. Any chewing whatsoever sends me into severe pain that does not abate for a couple of hours. So I’m on a liquid diet until I can get this resolved. Whey mix with heavy cream & raw egg.

Enjoy your steaks everyone.

I use isolate whey once a day …no issues. Also use in baking. If a person were to use 3 or more times a day then could be an issue. Depends on the person.

I hope you feel better really soon!!! <3

Casein gets thick after being mixed so it probably won’t behave in recipes that call for whey

I only will use it in a few recipies so I won’t bother using it as a protein itself, just decided to grab it because it was half price and some pancakes and things I’ve wanted to make call for it
