Protein pacing…
Has anyone tried it?
Protein pacing
The idea seems ok, but this ‘study’ seems much more about oxidative stress which I can’t really comment intelligently on.
Lot’s of folks dropped out, people chose whatever they wanted afterward, no control groups or anything like that. I’m not even sure I would call this an observational study.
I have been curious about timing of protein intake, it seems that it should be more beneficial to have protein throughout the day rather than at one big meal such as on OMAD or IF.
If insulin levels are not a concern, then eating protein more times per day versus less, sounds like a good idea to me, i.e. whatever problems there are with only getting the nutrient once a day, for example, would be mitigated. Don’t know if there really are any problems, there, though. Evolutionarily, doesn’t seem like there should be.
PCBs have a really low level of toxicity in the human body. They accumulate in fat deposits, so when weight loss happens and fat is burned, then no wonder blood levels of them go up. PCBs have had quite a bit of hype surrounding them, often due to being blamed for the effects of other chemicals. A lot of that began with the Yusho incident in Japan, in the 1960s - some rice oil got contaminated with PCBs and people were affected. PCBs weren’t the whole story, however, as furans (polychlorinated dibenzofurans) and some other chemicals were also present. PCBs can burn, and either one or two ozygen molecules are added, forming a furan or a dixoin. Furans have roughly 1000 times the toxicity of PCBs, and for dioxins it’s 1,000,000 times.
