Problems? It's not always Ketosis fault

(Tanya Walker) #1

It seems like people new to ketogenic way of eating blame any and all problems they have on keto diet and wonder what they are doing wrong or quit all together.
A couple of weeks ago, I started feeling really exhausted, had some dizzy/lightheaded spells. Did a little research, increased my sodium. Still felt bad, almost passed out at work, just felt really weak. Checked blood sugar and blood pressure, all ok. Went to Dr. Severely Anemic. Hemoglobin of. 5.4 (not A1C, ). Normal for women starts at 12. We are investigating cause. But definitely not my diet’s fault.
Eating keto in the hospital isn’t easy, and seriously, offering a diabetic dessert…“Don’t you want cookies or ice cream or something ?”
