Prior to keto this was my typical "healthy breakfast"

Now we all know what a crappy breakfast pre keto is. Sugary cereals, donuts. But what were some meals you thought were healthy?? Perusing myfitnesspal from years prior- I thought the below was healthy because of the banana and healthy whole wheat wrap…and I kept it CICO! Oh my breakfast I was already at 52 carbs,

here is my breakfast from 2014.

Bkfast wrap made with
2 tbls of marscapone cheese, banana (must have that fruit serving!) 1 tablespoon of De Ruijter Dark Chocolate sprinkles (antixoidants! LOL!). oh and I did get a Tumaro’s low carb wrap multigrain wrap.lol. A harbinger of things to come…

In 2014 I thought this was healthy.

Way back when, I don’t remember what I ate for breakfast. But I would go lift weights for 1-1.5 hours, then get a bran muffin, a double espresso, and a massive “bean and rice” burrito, which might have had chicken (white meat only of course), then I would go mountain biking for hours. Finish with pasta.

I used to eat hot cereal (plain) for breakfast, pasta for lunch, and brown rice and beans for dinner. With a rice cake for a snack. Ate this for years.

Tried to keep my fat below 10% by calories.

This was pre-SAD, though.

While following a “point counting system” my typical breakfast would be : old fashioned rolled oats, or non-fat Greek yogurt, a banana and coffee with 1/2 & 1/2. I was always very hungry when I got up and was always hungry by lunchtime…In fact, I was always hungry!! Notice there was NO fat in the breakfast because fat was “expensive” in the Point allotment for the day! I should add that I had to answer to a scale weekly and lost very little weight and was always tired (58 year old woman).
Things are so different now! I don’t even eat breakfast now, but just have a Fatty Coffee and none broth in the morning. I can sometimes go hours before thinking of food. After 16 weeks of a Ketogenic Lifestyle I am reversing an autoimmune thyroid disease, I have lost 27 lbs, dropped a couple of jean sizes and am wearing smaller shirts and have energy and stamina like never before!
Its It’s amazing what the right foods can do!!

Sorry, I meant to say bone broth!

I would sometimes eat a can of frozen orange juice concentrate for breakfast. 0 grams of fat! And no cholesterol! About as close as one could come to a perfect food…

What? You mean my several flour tortillas with butter dipped in salsa and two Dr. Peppers was not a good breakfast? Come on, for like a year around age 21 I had a Snickers and a diet coke for dinner, only 240 calories and “has protein!” – didn’t that make up for it?

I pretty much at eggs for breakfast. (love them) Sometimes steel cut oats and on the weekends, muffins from the farmers market. I knew they were bad but they were good.
