TRF can end up also being just another form of calorie restriction. What might be better is some empty days, some 1 or 2 meal days and some very full days - all just based on hunger.

Consistent daily intake (in your situation) is going to slow metabolism if any weight loss happens.

Some good high intensity exercise prior to a little indulging can mitigate the effects…the body will prioritize burning the alcohol first then the carbs then get back to fat burning if you’re fat adapted. That prioritization of burning through all the alcohol and carbs always stopped me from going too far. I think of how hard it is to deplete glycogen stores. I’d rather thoroughly enjoy a couple one ounce pours and feel great than guzzle a few big glasses and stop enjoying it after probably half of that first beer and feel like sh*t! And remember darker and higher ABV beers will be higher in carbs

Awesome, thanks for the advice! I’ll make sure to switch it up.

happy to pass on some wonderful advice I gotten from others going thru the same troubles as they made monster eating changes in their lives.

the advice from those who are successful in the long run is truly a wonderful learning tool when they offer up some great advice. I think advice from long term maintainers is priceless

Eggs?

(Samantha Ziegler) #28

I know you were replying to Fangs, but I have to say I hate eggs!! Maybe that’s why I end up fasting through breakfast once adapted.

I just bought three awesome keto recipe books and I have a ton of good, egg-less breakfast ideas.

Eggs? That was to me?? lol no clue it had anything to do with my post.

I don’t do eggs anymore…well sometimes when out at a restaurant and I can order a bacon/cheese omelet.

Eggs do not hold me anymore. They were good for me in the beginning but now I require meat. Big hunks of meat  Less hungry I will do tuna, shrimp, crab legs, seafood options. They give me power…eggs leave me hungry and feel like I didn’t eat a thing.

Breakfast if I ever want it which is rare, bacon and usually I eat a lb. myself. I have no trouble eating a lb of bacon and it holds me for an incredible amt of time til I get a hankering for a steak.

Also I never do ‘breakfast foods’ etc. anymore. I eat whatever I want at any time of the day. Sausage and bacon for dinner…wonderful. Ribeye in the morning, absolutely.

@Fangs Fish eggs? Roe?

sure. for Carnivore any parts from animal/seafood are wonderful. If it had a parent you eat it

I love sardines and eat them. Sardines are great in my backpack when hiking…I crack that tin and my hubby just dies. He hates them LOL I just adore them.

So, I’ve been getting the forum update emails… and casually glance at them some time. I’ve been trying to stay low carb… mostly. But slowly the pounds have been coming back. So, 200 is now 210.
I need a kick in my butt.
And I happened to see this post. Maybe it’ll be my trigger…

Agreed.

This is a big reason why I love keto. I eat as much as I want (to satiety), and never give it a second thought. It is wonderful and so liberating. I don’t give a second thought to food (because I eat clean keto), calories, macros, weighing myself, portion control, or tracking anything. In my case, I don’t want to - many people find these things work for them, however, and that is great. I have started to exercise (something that I haven’t done in many years), because I want to, not because I am trying to speed up my weight loss.
