My niece has been on keto for 1 year lost 100 lbs and is now pregnant (8weeks) she is reading that she could get constipated and she should eat fruit. Think that is right?

No, but I for one am not about to tell a pregnant woman what to eat. We weren’t keto at the time, but my wife HAD to have certain things, and conversely other things, the smell would make her sick.

Not at all. Most constipation is a lack of salt so she needs to make sure her fluids are up and salt is adequate.
However, if she wants to consume fruit as she thinks it’ll be beneficial to her at this time, that’s her call.
I wish I’d known about keto during my pregnancy.

My midwife always told me that the things we needed (as pregnant women) were water, salt, and protein. She never told me to eat fruit.

Not solely responsive to the salt question, but clearheaded remarks from Lily Nichols about pregnancy can be found here…
