Absolute bloody madness. Our bodies are made of protein and fat, not carbohydrates.

Shouldn’t surprise us but I still get cross. Are we delusional? the whole world has a different understanding

Ah yes. Carb loading, for all those 100 yard dashes you’ll be doing when you wake up.

I don’t want to sugar poison myself on a good, healthy day and it’s among the last things I want before an operation… (And I can handle sugar pretty well compared to many others. Still, much carbs eventually results in sugar poisoning for me, at least I call it like that as sugar triggers it and it feels bad. I could do it in hours if I wasn’t a hedonist as I definitely don’t enjoy that, not even the eating part.)
My body got plenty of energy from fat all my life, IDK why I would start a weird “carb is the primary fuel” thing… I suppose they think along those line, not eating 50g carbs instead of 25 or something.

And considering the average person already eats a ton of carbs, increasing that… Ouch.

Makes no sense to me, actually but I would listen to the reasons if they would provide it (and probably would find why it isn’t for people like me).

My body gets plenty of energy without eating any sugar - and if it needs sugar, it makes it from other things just fine. Extreme situations may be different but it’s not like the body will need super quick energy asap or else. At least I don’t think so.

Oh dear…hope your surgery goes well without the carbs! :hugs:

If you have to eat carbs, fruits and honey are the least toxic and easiest to detox from. Good luck with your surgery!
