Post surgery 3 months

Hello, I’m wondering if anyone has had this trouble. 3 months ago I had my appendix out. It was a sub acute appendicitis. I had done keto for about 20 days previously last November. During that time my blood sugar came down from above 100 to 80’s and 70’s. My energy and mood was improved and I was very happy. I’ve started back on keto 6 weeks ago and am having trouble with fatigue, and soreness in my gut around the site where the surgery happened. And my blood sugars won’t come down out of the 100’s. I’ve asked my doctor and she’s suggested I go back to carbs, which is not an option for me. She in my opinion was very against keto and was not educated about it.

Has anyone had inflammation that’s lasted this long after surgery? And maybe that’s why the fatigue and pain? I’ve had labs drawn. All looked good. Lipids and a1c better after just one month in keto this time. Any suggestions or ideas? Thank you.

I haven’t had my appendix out, but I did have my gallbladder out last year. Three months later (I remember this because I started Crossfit right at 3 months and was very limited) I still had quite a bit of pain. I thought maybe it was my age (I was 42) because the five small incisions and surrounding abdominal pain bothered me so much more than my cesarean births did after the same amount of time.

Thank you for your reply and your experience with surgery. It must be my gut still trying to heal and or the scar tissue. I’m determined to just keep calm and keto on as they say.
