Hello! I’m new here. I have been following a keto diet for three weeks. In the first two weeks I lost 7 pounds, but these last few days I’m back up 3!
For reference, I’m not a big person - female, 5’6", small frame, I work out a lot.
I started at 129.5, went down to 122.5 and now am back up to 125. I know this might not seem like a lot to some, but at my range, it is. Also discouraging to see the number creep back up.
Please tell me this is water? I’ve read about stalls, but not immediate gains. I guess I’m just looking for confirmation.
Thanks
Post induction GAIN?
Are you taking measurements? They’ll be a more reliable indicator for whatever size changes you’re looking for.
Might have to give yourself some time.
A good trip to the bathroom makes a couple of pounds difference for some.
Water does make a difference since this type of eating is different than carb/sugar. The amount of water your body needs will change, too, so that stuff needs to get worked out.
I have taken measurements. At this point I have lost so that’s good I guess.
Just the scale is depressing. I’m trying to change my mind set
If you’re down in measurements, isn’t that what you want? I mean, isn’t that why you wanted to lose weight in the first place?
Measurements dropping while your weight stays the same or goes up a bit is GREAT, it’s the ideal situation. Increased muscle density maybe even an increase bone density (unlikely in such a short time but in the long term that would be a lovely outcome) and less fat. You’re looking at a really nice result in just three weeks. That’s awesome; congratulations!
