I just looked on amazon and the cheapest I see Is $25 for two pack of 18oz utz brand or $18 for one. I usually buy the baken ets ones for $2 a bag but the bags are small

Thank you for the compliment about our UK scratchings :grinning: Can we use the UK versions for recipes… Or do you think they are too fatty to smash up? I’ve been on a mission this morning and have picked up a load of different types to test out…Oh dear I suppose someone has to do it :pig:

Too fatty. You can get US style, protein rich rinds in ethnic convenience stores. My mum got them in Cambridge over Christmas.

I’m interested to see your results. The value leader for scratchings over the holidays around Cambridge was a bag of 6 smaller packets (perfect snack size) for 79p at B&M.

This was my first holiday season back home where I couldn’t indulge in my favorite Scampi Fries… thank god for scratchings

Oh I love a scampi fry too. I’ve got 3 different types of scratching from home bargains. One is a multi pack with small individual packets. Ideal because I still haven’t learnt how to take 1 out of a packet and save the rest for later! My experiment will take a while because of my weakness.

Me too. Same with nuts as well. I buy them in boxes of small packets or else i binge.

I imported 8x6 packs of the scratchings to the US in my carry-on in Jan. I can only imagine what my luggage looked like in the x-ray machine!

They look good. Have you tried them? Is the seasoning okay?

I went to Aldi today and picked a bag of the plain cheap brand off the shelf. A woman near by shrieked ā€œPork skins!!! I have to get some. Haven’t had them in years!ā€ We then had a conversation about modern tastes… people disgusted if you showed up to a party with porkrinds instead of chips, and people who just cannot eat meat on a bone. So much ā€œewwwā€ and just so ridiculous. This woman knew nothing about keto but she knew about porkrinds and bone broth!

I was wondering what others thought about 4505. Normal pork rinds are funky to me. The 4505 didn’t have that flavor. They were light and crisp. Not heavily seasoned though but that wasnt even an issue since I was just happy they werent funky. They literally taste more pure and clean than any others I’ve had.

They are fried in rendered pork fat and humanely raised among other perks. I assume this is why they taste so different. The only problem as others have mentioned is the price.

They are definitely my favorite as I had all but given up on pork rinds.

I love 4505 for snacking, and for pork rind nachos. I use the Aldi brand (Clancy’s, I think) for making crumbs for breading and pancakes/dough.

I managed to score a sale on Amazon on 4505 a few weeks ago- the price is definitely a bit of a barrier for me too, but it’s a splurge-worthy treat, in my opinion!
