Pork Rinds Question

(Pat S) #1

Has anyone tried to flavor the plain pork rinds with a mixture of spices? The BBQ ones taste really good, but have sugar. I’m not wild about the plain ones. Just thinking maybe they have potential if mixed with something.

Ranch powder, i also eat them with cream cheese or put in my homemade chili.

Endless possibilities for this KETO Staple😍

You can go the other route
Cinnamon, nutmeg, and or pumpkin spice
Can add a bit of ur favorite powder sweetener too
Toss in a ziploc bag. Shake and eat
For fat, add melted butter. Yummy!

I’m a sucker for getting a French Onion soup mix and mixing in a container of sour cream. If I ate the entire thing in one setting I would still likely be under 20 carbs. Fun once in awhile treat with pork rinds.

YUM! What a great idea. Im going to make that and dip celery in it.

There are 32 grams of carb in that pack French Onion Soup Mix so I would be careful with that if you use a lot.

That ranch powder is carby too @Stevejill91

Pay attention to the number of servings in the pack…not just the amount per serving.

I mix a little bit of onion powder in sour cream and use as dip for my pork rinds.

Or I melt some cheddar cheese on then in the toaster over.

My next goal is to make some cheese sauce and dip them in there.

I’ve used cheesy popcorn flavorings. It helps if you warm the pork rinds up a bit, put them in a ziplock bag, add the seasoning and shake to coat.

use any kind of dip, use them like you would nacho chips or something like that.

Low carb salsa, pesto dip, the sky is the limit.

Guacamole!

Most of the flavored ones, and the processed-food seasoning mixes are going to have some junk in them that you don’t want. Have you tried all the brands of pork rinds available in your local area? Some of the brands sold around me taste like a cross between styrofoam and cardboard, others are pretty awesome. I have found the ones that list Lard as an ingredient to be pretty palatable by themselves

I have been know to use up the lesser ones by making pork rind nachos with grated cheddar and bacon crumbles

Thank you. I had it at the tip of my tongue…
My work day was too long. Brainfart… :see_no_evil:

blue cheese powder…

(Diane) #14

Oh, why didn’t I think of that?

(Diane) #15

Ok. That’s on my wish list!

Really anything in their Cheese Powders & Seasonings would work. But I started with the blue cheese powder… it’s potent.

I put cinnamon and stevia on my pork rinds add a little sugar free maple syrup and pour unsweet vanilla almond milk on top. Boom…it’s cereal

(Steve ricci ) #18

I’ve used then to make meatloaf instead of bread crumbs.

@LeCheffre have you ever been to The Spice House? You can smell it from a street block away!

Mayo. Primal Kitchen’s mayo, both original and chipotle would probably be good. I have never had pork rinds, but I have heard someone else say that she likes this combination.
