Poor sleep quality with increased protein?

#1

Has anybody noticed not being able to fall asleep or not being able to stay asleep after a day of really high protein intake?

This isn’t the first time this has happened to me, n=1

Only if I eat too late in the day, as in too close to bed time.

Opposite for me. I get tired right away.but I omad. And I eat all my protein around 630 or 7pm and so tired after. I go right to bed.

Does your body feel hot when this happens? :cowboy_hat_face:

I always feel hot now, even when I’m cold. :kissing_heart:

Okay, calm down sparky! :joy::joy::grin:

What I meant is when you’re lying in bed and can’t sleep are you sweating or feeling internal heat? Like uncomfortably.

Yea, I do feel a little uncomfortable temperature wise like I’m burning up.

I guess that means I won’t be able to go carnivore. :disappointed:

You might be eating a little too much protein to fat balance. That’s my theory. There’s a thermal effect when our bodies break down proteins. If you’re getting that warmth to the degree it’s uncomfortable and your pillow and sheets are clammy and you’re sleepless it’s too much at once. Eating earlier can definitely help. If you’re eating leaner protein I think the effect can be worse without additional fat which will help you stop eating and be satisfied sooner before you overload on protein. Eating a lot too fast can complicate sensing satiety before overload occurs too. I don’t know what you eat, this is just general info. :cowboy_hat_face:

Interesting :kissing:
Opposite kinda

I get tired
I naturally eat way too fast
I do get warm as well
I do not eat late

And…
Oh wait😳
Forget To mention
All the added caffeine or coffee may be a slight culprit for me
I just outed myself
NEVER blame the coffee though
